JOB DESCRIPTION – SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
The Plant Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing day to day
operational Logistics support at the plant level. Key responsibility
areas are as follows:
Manage both the physical and information flow from the customer to
the supplier.
Ensure the best service level to the customers (internal and
external customers) at the lower cost level (logistics, current
inventory and physical flows).
Manage the supply base with the help of Inergy and MSIL purchasing
departments.
Act as the primary plant liaison between logistics with corporate,
regional and sister plants
Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time
constraints. Unusual hours may be required on an occasional basis.
This is a salaried, exempt position.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Plant Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the Plant Director,
who will be its back-up in case of absence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Lead the Supply Chain Team
2. Ensure the Supply Chain Interface between customers and suppliers.
3. Supervise the consolidated SIOP (fundamental objective is to
reconcile sales forecasts with production plans in terms of volume)and
MPS (translation of the SIOP into a detailed production plan
generating planned orders to suppliers in order to ensure supply of
the components on time) of the plant
4. Provide and maintain short term and long term plans to cover
immediate supply chain requirements and longer term projections.
5. Ensure the quality of customer deliveries and of vendor delivery
plan (deadlines, qties and costs)
6. Control and optimize all physical flows and information flows, both
internally and externally
7. Ensure the inventory accuracy for the total stocks (RM, WIP, FG)
of the plant
8. Set and validate together with the Plant Manager, the inventory
target for the plant; meet the target, keeping excess and obsolete
stock at minimum level.
9. Improve continuously the supply chain expertise and knowledge of
his/her department
10. Ensure the reliability of internal system and set the logistics
parameters (planning, lead-times,…)
11. Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
12. Provide support to other positions as needed and complete other
duties as assigned such as but not limited to issue all Purchase
Orders based on Purchase request for all MRO/Indirect needs to the
India plant; manage the local ASL (Approved Supplier List) for direct
and indirect needs; carry out negotiations with local supplier.
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Discrepancy between real (stock taking) and theoretical stock level
(in the system).
2. Inventories level vs. inventories target.
3. No shutdown at INERGY due to components shortage
4. No shutdown at Customers due to final goods shortage
5. Logistics PPM rate from Customer
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Demonstrate ability to drive change and continuous improvement in a
global environment.
2. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and
have the ability to interface and articulate at all levels of the
organization.
3. Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data.
4. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
5. Must be flexible, dependable and innovative.
6. Skillful with office package (excel. World , Powerpoint, etc..)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Male, age 30 – 37 years old.
2. 3 years supply chain leadership experience in a world-class
manufacturing company
3. Bachelor Degree majoring in Logistics
4. 2 years Experience in ERP system (especially MRP and Stock
management modules)
5. APICS certification would be a must.
